Gill Laird-Portch is currently Technology Park Manager with Zernike Australia Pty Ltd, and has over 12 years of experience working with Innovation and Technology Parks. Formerly employed as Manager of Stirling University Innovation Park, Scotland UK with Forthright Innovation, Gill has extensive knowledge and understanding of Smart Communities, knowledge-intensive industries, and the provision of value-add services to residents of specialised business parks.
Gill took up the position of Manager, Brisbane Technology Park in 2002 when Zernike Australia was awarded the management contract by Queensland Government. During this time the Park has developed a strong community with over 86 companies employing in excess of 3000 employees.
Recently, Gill developed a new initiative at the Technology Park, 'Level One by Zernike'. This prestigious development provides multi-sized offices offering flexible lease terms specifically catering to high growth businesses involved in technology and research development. The broad range of added-value services provided through Level One includes onsite business and administration support, Board room and Video conferencing services.
Gill also established the Qld & NSW Innovation Series a high level business luncheon that seeks to 'connect people to ideas and ideas to people', showcasing keynote speakers who represent organisations at the forefront of innovation research and the latest in technology developments.
Gill is a member of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland, and has been a long term Member of the International Association of Science Parks.
